Search our directory of qualified practitioners offering up to three free sessions of therapeutic support.

Can't find someone nearby? Many practitioners offer sessions online, so geography doesn't have to be a barrier. If you're having trouble after you've contacted a few practitioners, get in touch and we'll do our best to help.
All practitioners in our directory are qualified, registered psychological professionals, counsellors, psychotherapists, clinical psychologists, or psychiatrists, with professional indemnity insurance. Every one of them is a CPA member actively engaged with their own climate feelings, and offering climate-aware practice.

These sessions are not ongoing counselling or long-term psychotherapy. They are time-limited and specifically focused on the emotional impact of the climate and ecological crisis. While climate feelings can touch many parts of your life, these sessions are designed to address climate-related distress directly, not to replace wider therapeutic work.
Therapeutic Support is for anyone over 18 who is feeling emotionally affected by the reality of the climate and ecological crisis. That includes:
People experiencing climate grief, eco-anxiety, climate-related depression, or ecological despair
Climate activists and campaigners struggling with burnout, trauma, or the emotional toll of the work
People arrested or imprisoned for climate activism
Those working in climate-adjacent fields, scientists, researchers, policy staff, journalists, carrying the weight of what they know
Anyone who feels overwhelmed, isolated, or paralysed by what's happening to the living world
If your distress is connected to the climate and ecological crisis, you're welcome to reach out.

Search for a practitioner whose background, approach, and availability match what you're looking for. Read their bio, their areas of expertise, and how they work.
Reach out to the practitioner through the contact details on their listing. Introduce yourself briefly and let them know you're enquiring about CPA Therapeutic Support. There's no central booking system, each practitioner manages their own enquiries. You may need to contact more than one practitioner to find someone with availability.
If the practitioner has availability and it feels like a good fit, you'll arrange your first session together. Sessions are typically held online, though some practitioners offer in-person or phone sessions.
You can have up to three sessions with your chosen practitioner, free of charge. Together, you'll explore what you're carrying and find ways to work with it.
CPA is not a counselling service. We facilitate a directory of climate-aware practitioners who each offer these free sessions independently. CPA has no financial involvement with individual practitioners and cannot guarantee availability or specific outcomes, but we're proud to make these connections possible.
Not everyone needs or wants one-to-one therapy, and some people find what they need in books, podcasts, articles, or other forms of support. Here are a few starting points.
