Ewan Davidson

I have been a person-centred counsellor since 2001and continue to work in the NHS and private practice in Scotland. I've also worked in a university counselling programme in Edinburgh since and supervised other counsellors since 2010.

Before that I trained as an ecologist and have become increasingly concerned about both the evidence of climate change and the lack of awareness and response from our institutions and culture. I joined the XR protests and then realised my most useful offer to the movement would be to support other activists, so I also joined the CPA, where I've offered therapeutic support sessions and facilitate climate cafés. Through doing this I've realised there are both blindspots in my awareness and in the conventions of therapy so I undertook and completed Climate Aware Practitioner training via Psychology for a Safe Climate in Spring 2023.

My normal work frame is brief and so particularly suited to the kind of work we do in therapeutic support, and as an activist with my own experiences of burnout and re-engagement I have been able to work succinctly with others in the movement.
