Sharing knowledge, experience and practice for CPA Scotland Members.

CPA Scotland members met for the first official 'members day' for Scotland's CPA group on Saturday, the 20th of January.

A group of 12 met at 9:30am on a Saturday morning at the Salisbury Centre in Edinburgh for a day of sharing knowledge, experience and practice. The day began with an opening mindfulness and nature connection exercise, led by Nadine Andrews, followed by a journey through the garden to take part in a creative exercise. Each person created a story out of something they found or made in the garden, a story and sharing that reflected how they feel about climate change and the ecological crises. The exercise was a very useful way for understanding the unique angles that exist towards climate change and the ecological crisis, both an oppotunity to get to know eachother better and to widen our understanding of the different interpretations that can exist on the same issue.

The group found great value in sharing with eachother the journey they have been on with regards to involvement in climate change issues in their personal and professional lives. This was made all the more interesting by the great variety of research and work interests and backgrounds that were present, including civil engineering and sound acoustics, anthropology, tranistion networks, Higher Education lecturers and representatives, communication managers and eco-psychologists.

The group look forward to more events like this in the future, and have identifed key themes for exploring in the months and years ahead.
